Received
The first act explores perception, acceptance, and the ways in which we receive the world and one another. Through layered movement and narrative, Received examines how grief can surface in many forms—quiet, explosive, tender, unresolved—and how it shapes our understanding of self and lineage. This act asks audiences to sit with what has been passed down, both the visible and the unspoken, honoring the complexity of inheritance without rushing toward resolution.

My Dearest__, is a love letter filled with gratitude, honor, and appreciation for the matriarchs and mother-like figures who have shaped our lives. The work stands as the show's only all-male piece and served as a tribute to Black mothers and the profound impact they have on their families and communities.
The creative process began with each cast member writing a personal letter to the maternal figures in their lives. Those reflections became the emotional and physical foundation of the choreography, guiding the movement vocabulary and storytelling within the piece.

I Know You shifts toward recognition, joy, and release—embracing humor, strength, connection, and the power of being fully seen. Rooted in clarity as a source of empowerment, the work culminates in a celebration of Black womanhood, community, and the freedom found through understanding oneself and one’s lineage.
